 | May 14, 2004: as noted, our supplier for the
gearbox/transmission assembly is behind schedule on production. this is
partly due to a last minute upgrade of the design on our part. |
 | May 21, 2004: We are told that the new part is on it's way to
us now, and should allow us to get production rolling. |
 | June 15, 2004: additional Delay as we rejected the most recent
production assembly. (Didn't perform to our standards) |
 | June 30, 2004: Production assembly #5 was unacceptable. |
 | July 7, 2004: Production assembly # 6, unacceptable, but close |
 | July 15, 2004: Assembly #7 passed tests with power/strength to
spare. However, The gears will be made from a Zinc Alloy to make them
stronger. This adds a slight molding delay. We do expect product delivery
in mid-late August at this point. Since the remainder of the unit is built
in our factory, we will be able to deliver the new product within days of
receipt of these assemblies |
 | August 12, 2004: we are told the subassemblies are in
production. |
 | August 26, 2004: The Motor subassemblies are complete, and in
transit to us now. We expect to receive them by August 31. |
 | September 3, 2004: We are finally ready to begin production on
the VSM and should be fully converted and turning out the new model by mid
month! |
 | October 3, 2004 : after a few false starts, production began on
the new model. immediate testing of the new unit revealed a need for a
larger power supply and a corresponding internal modification. We hope to
be shipping within days now. An unintended side benefit from this
modification is that the new VSM now exceeds our original stroking power
specification. This will result in the end user feeling a more powerful
stroking action with a higher top end speed. |
 | November 1, 2004: VSM 2.0 Began shipping in limited quantities
to existing customers who had been waiting for the new model. Some of them
for more than a year! |
 | December 1, 2004: We are now in production,
and expect to be caught up with all backorders by mid- March. At that
time we will make the unit available to the general public. We will
immediately begin phasing out VSM 1.5 Warranty and technical support will
of course continue on those models. All existing customers will be offered
a discounted upgrade to the new model. |
 | 2005 : As of Mid 2005 we are shipping the VSM version 2.0 at
the 1.5 Price. The price will increase in early 2006 to it's normal Price
level. |
 | October 2005: Due to the increased demand, we made the decision
to purchase and move to a larger facility. This month we completed the
purchase, and started renovations of the new facility. This will have a
short term effect of decreasing order output, but a long term effect of
being able to keep up with demand. Please bear with us. |
